On 20 October 2012 a plaque commemorating the men of Marston who died in the Second World War was unveiled on the Marston Road, in front of one of the memorial trees that were planted in their honour on 13 November 1950

The Revd Elaine Bardwell, Vicar of St Michael & All Angels Church, Marston Road, led the short service

The officer on the left (pictured after the service) played The Last Post before the minute’s silence
Councillor Mick Haines, Marston city councillor, with Josie Bridges (88), who unveiled the plaque
and was also present when these memorial trees were planted 62 years earlier
