Mather’s Farm, Headington

Mather’s Farm

The postcard above, dating from before the First World War, shows the seventeenth-century Mather’s Farmhouse on the corner of Larkin’s Lane and Barton Lane. Mrs Berry would still have been baking and selling her bread in the house at this time.

Mather’s Farm today

The house, with its external chimney, looks much the same today, although the stonework has obviously had some attention.
