Primelight Advertising Ltd submitted a retrospective planning application on 25 February 2005 for "Retention of free-standing double-sided internally illuminated advertising sign on forecourt" outside the Project X shop at 71A London Road.

Local councillors turned this application down on the grounds that it was a significant hazard to pedestrians and unsympathetic to its surroundings. But the applicants appealed, and the planning inspector came out in their favour on 31 August 2005.

So the board remains.
