New Marston: 1851 census
The only part of New Marston that existed at the time of the 1851 census was a group of eight cottages on the east side of the Marston Road adjoining the brick kilns. These came under the parish of St Andrew’s Church in Headington. The preamble to that census describes them as "all the Houses in Marston Lane called Mr Plowman’s Brick Yard"
