Stone in Marks & Spencer

In all there are about thirty parish boundary markers in central Oxford. The ones that are on private property (including colleges) are not shown on this website.

An exception is made for this rather special boundary stone (left), because although it is on private property, it used to be on the street (before the alley in which it stood was engulfed by the surrounding shop). In addition, the fact that it is on the ground floor of Marks & Spencer means that it can easily be viewed during shop opening hours.
