Stone in Marks & Spencer

In all there are about thirty parish boundary markers in central Oxford. The ones that are on private property (e.g. the plain stone marker in the carpark of the Old Bank Hotel, the one on private property in George Street, and those inside colleges) are not shown here.

An exception is made for this rather special boundary stone (left), because although it is on private property, it used to be on the street (before the alley in which it stood was engulfed by the surrounding shop), and is also easy to visit on the ground floor of Marks & Spencer during shop opening hours.
