Inspector Morse

This plaque is on the main Oxford Police Station in St Aldate’s. It reads:

THAMES VALLEY POLICE

St. Aldate’s
is the headquarters of
Oxford City Police
and where
Chief Inspector E. Morse
‘settles cuckoo-like to pursue his
unofficial inquiries’

The exterior of this building was
used in filming between
1986 and 1995

This plaque was unveiled by
Colin Dexter O.B.E.,
23rd July 2006.

THE INSPECTOR MORSE SOCIETY

Chief Inspector Endeavour Morse, the character created by Colin Dexter in his novels, died in 1999.
