[Footonote: Edward Dawson, incorp. M.A. from Camb. 11 July 620; not M.D. till June 1633. Wood, in MS. Phillipps 7018 more correctly describes hima t this time as: ‘M.A. and practioner of physick’.] (i,44)

John Grundy
1657, April. James Powell of Herefordshire, gentleman commoner of Balliol College, died, Th., 2 Apr. 1657; and was buried in Magdalen parish Church. He was a little before let blood in the arme by one Grundy an apprentice to William Day, chirurgion; which Grundy, having learnd a new fashion of striking the veine, missed it and struck an arterie, which swelling and festering, the party (rather than have his arme cut off) soon after expired. He was also bachelor of Arts. (i.215)
