Cornmarket: St Michael at the Northgate

St Michael's Church in 2009

St Michael at the Northgate Church in Cornmarket, one of the oldest churches in Oxford, is recorded in the Domesday Book. Its tower was built around 1050 and is Oxford’s oldest remaining building: it marks the position of the city’s old North Gate. It is Grade A listed.
