The publisher A. R. Mowbray had his shop here in the 1850s and 1860s.
The publisher George Davis produced many postcards of the City of Oxford here in the early nineteenth century: his shop is shown on the left.
The hatter Frederick Margetts moved here from 12 Cornmarket in the early nineteenth century, and was still here in 1958.

Described as "uninhabited", implying that the jeweller Abraham Zacharias did not live on the premises.
1861
Alfred R. Mowbray (36) is living here. Born in Leicester, he was a photographer, bookseller, and stationer, married to Susan (31). They have four children: Alfred (11), Samuel (10), Florence (4), and Gertrude (2), and no servants. Only the youngest daughter was born in Oxford, suggesting that they moved here in about 1859.
1881
Richard Farrant (75), a retired cabinet maker, is living here with his unmarried daughter Harriett (39) who is the manager of her father's old shop; he is also the employer of one assistant and one boy. They have one female servant.
