East wall: New College

The east town wall runs close to and parallel to Longwall Street (which is named after the wall, and is outside the medieval town). This section of wall cannot be seen, however, from outside New College.

The last New College bastion (above), in the south-east corner where it joins its neighbour St Edmund Hall, serves a practical purpose and contains a divided compost heap.
