Week beginning Monday 21 July: Work started near Pullens Lane. Meanwhile Southern Gas went into its fourth week of gas main repairs near Gipsy Lane, and there were some new excavations by Thames Water.

Week beginning 4 August 2008: Southern Gas still at work near Gipsy Lane, while pavement narrowing continues at Pullen's Lane
20mph zone and bus lane
Consultation closed on 28 November 2007 on the county council's proposed traffic order introducing:
(1) A 20mph speed limit on the Headington Road from Pullens Lane to Headley Way
(2) An eastbound bus lane on the Headington and London Roads from Gipsy Lane to Osler Road.

The London Road subway
The most controversial aspect of the improvements is the plan to fill in the London Road subway (part of Stage 2). The photograph below (taken on Sunday 20 July 2008) shows the county council's noticeboard with a letter in praise of the subway that appeared in the previous day's Oxford Mail pasted to it.
