Leak in London Road, Headington

Sewage

On Saturday 19 February 2005 water was flooding up continuously from the Thames Water manhole on the London Road and running down the gutter of Kennett Road. It was obviously contaminated by sewage, but this didn't seem to worry shoppers, who were walking through it. The sewer in question drains down past Kennett Road and turns left down Latimer Road.

Thames Water came out very quickly to solve the problem. A similar incident occurred a few months previously, and they are going to clean the section of the network causing this problem, as it is probably partially clogged up.
