Buses between central London and Headington
Two bus companies run excellent 24-hour services between Oxford and London, and each has three stops in Headington:
- Green Road roundabout
- Headington shops
- Gipsy Lane (for Oxford Brookes University).
So don't travel all the way into the Gloucester Green coach station in Oxford only to make your way back eastwards to Headington again. The two companies are as follows: note that their picking-up / dropping points in London vary:

The Oxford Espress (formerly called the X90)
Runs every 12–20 minutes during the day, every half-hour at night
Starts at Victoria Coach Station and picks up at Victoria railway/underground station, Marble Arch, Baker Street, and Hillingdon

The Oxford Tube
Runs every 10–20 minutes during the day, every hour at night
Sstarts at Grosvenor Gardens in Victoria, and picks up at Marble Arch, Notting Hill Gate, Shepherds Bush, and Hillingdon. Tickets can be bought online
(Megabus, which offers the cheapest deals to London,
ceased to run through Headington on 12 July 2004)
